Model Balanced Portfolio (Australian Equities)
Model ObjectiveTo provide actively managed exposure to selected securities in the ASX 300 index identified as offering superior return characteristics based on parameters set by the InvestorCircle Investment team. The style will be bottom up but with emphasis on sectors entering growth phases. Income generation will be minimal as will exposure to securities in the ASX 50 index.

BenchmarkThe benchmark for the portfolio provides a performance target against which the portfolio’s performance is measured over a period of time. The benchmark for this portfolio is the ASX 300 accumulation index.

Investment Strategy And ApproachThe investment process is driven by bottom up industry and stock research. The investment recommendations are based on identifying shares that exhibit either Growth characteristics or Value characteristics with a greater emphasis on Growth. Income investing principles will not be a consideration in the selection of shares.

The strategy is a buy hold strategy with a lesser degree of concentration than either the Leaders Portfolio

Gearing will not be recommended for this portfolio.



Model Leaders Portfolio (Australian Equities)
Model ObjectiveThe primary aim of the portfolio is to maximise capital growth through an exposure to a diversified portfolio of quality Blue Chip shares selected from large capitalisation companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Dividend income from the portfolio can be expected to be close to the ASX200 average.

BenchmarkThe benchmark for the portfolio provides a performance target against which the portfolio’s performance is measured over a period of time. The benchmark for this portfolio is the ASX 100 accumulation index.

Investment Strategy And ApproachThe investment recommendations are based on identifying shares from industry sectors that are exhibiting strong growth potential. The sectors represented in the portfolio will rarely be higher than 5 and as a result the portfolio is concentrated to reflect the needs of the relatively small portfolios being managed. Generally no more than 10 to 13 shares will be recommended for the portfolio; however, individuals’ portfolios may have more than that number due to timing issues related particularly to CGT.

Shares that are considered for this portfolio are generally from the ASX 50 and Value Investing principles are used for stock selection.

This portfolio is suitable for individuals who would like to participate in gearing to enhance the potential for capital growth. The level of gearing will be determined by investors in consultation with their financial advisors. There is an emphasis on retaining income within the portfolio to enhance long term returns.



Model High Income Portfolio (Australian Equities)
Model ObjectiveTo deliver an attractive high income yield from investments in shares selected from the ASX 100 index. The portfolio is actively traded to deliver good dividends and significantly enhanced through the use of aggressive option strategies.

BenchmarkThe benchmark for the portfolio provides a performance target against which the portfolio performance is measured over a period of time. The benchmark for this portfolio is the ASX 100 accumulation index.

Investment Strategy And ApproachThe investment recommendations are based on a fundamental approach in shares from sectors that are expected to outperform in the medium term. The portfolio is concentrated and it is critical that shares can be held in parcels that can be cost effectively overlaid with option strategies.

Emphasis is placed on shares having Exchange Traded Options series that are both liquid and generally offer good premiums. The strategy is to use options to initially enter equity investments and then to actively lock in capital growth with the use of Covered Calls on a frequent basis on each share represented in the portfolio. It can be expected that this portfolio could be turned over frequently.

Gearing is recommended for this portfolio, but is limited to 50%. Generally portfolios will start with no gearing and then build up over time. It is important that as much income as possible is retained within the portfolio to enhance long term returns.



Model Active Income Portfolio (Australian Equities)
Model ObjectiveTo deliver an attractive income yield through exposure to shares selected from the ASX 100 index. The portfolio is actively traded to deliver significantly enhanced through the use of option strategies.
